In the heart of the city, a project is taking shape that brings together heritage, elegance and innovation. Hotel do Salitre is a highly complex architectural and engineering intervention, designed to preserve the historic identity of two centuries-old townhouses while transforming them into an exclusive boutique hotel.
More than a construction and refurbishment project, this development is a tribute to the site’s history, restoring a remarkable architectural ensemble and preparing it to welcome new experiences, lasting memories and future generations.
A landmark refurbishment and construction project
The project comprises the complete refurbishment of two existing historic townhouses, the restoration of their historic garden and the construction of two new buildings, carefully integrated into the surrounding architectural context.
With a gross construction area of 4,413 sqm, the development includes 3,084 m² of refurbishment and restoration works alongside 1,319 m² of new-build construction, achieving a harmonious balance between heritage and contemporary design.
Once completed, Hotel do Salitre will feature 34 guest rooms, a restaurant, spa and swimming pool, offering a distinctive hospitality experience where modern comfort coexists with the authenticity of classical architecture.
Preserving the past, building the future
Delivering this project requires a high level of technical expertise, particularly in preserving the existing heritage elements while seamlessly integrating new structural and construction solutions.
The main works include:
- Full and partial demolition works
- Specialist foundation works
- Heritage restoration
- Structural strengthening of foundations and masonry walls
- Reinforced concrete structures
- Structural steelworks
- Internal and external finishes
- Building services installations
- Landscape works
Every stage of the project has been carefully planned to safeguard the architectural heritage while meeting the highest standards of safety, quality, efficiency and comfort.
