MAP Engenharia e Construção was featured on SIC Notícias, on the Expresso Imobiliário programme, in connection with the redevelopment and conversion of the iconic GC30 building in Areeiro, Lisbon, which has been transformed into the Acta Moa Lisboa Hotel.
Built in the 1970s and previously used for offices, retail and services, including the former Alfa Cinema, the building underwent an extensive redevelopment, giving rise to a new mixed-use space combining hospitality and workspaces.
Carried out by MAP Engenharia e Construção, the project was developed in two phases and involved a particularly demanding intervention, from the demolition and adaptation of the existing spaces to the creation of the new hospitality area, featuring approximately 200 rooms, dining and leisure facilities, a terrace and swimming pool.
The project also involved the comprehensive adaptation of the building to current safety and seismic-resistance standards, as well as the implementation of various technical systems, including air conditioning, ventilation, security and telecommunications.
Speaking to SIC Notícias, Nuno Fernandes, Production Director at MAP Engenharia e Construção, highlighted the complexity of the intervention and the importance of close coordination between the different teams and technical disciplines in delivering a project of this scale.
The building’s new architectural configuration was designed by José Carlos Cruz Arquitetos.
This project further strengthens MAP Engenharia e Construção’s expertise in the redevelopment and conversion of existing buildings, particularly in projects requiring a high level of coordination, technical expertise and adaptability to new uses.
