MAP Engenharia e Construção is building a new, five-star, luxury resort at Meia Praia in Lagos. This large-scale tourism project strengthens the company’s presence in the Algarve, while also consolidating its expertise in delivering high-standard hotel developments.
Diogo Abecasis, Co-CEO of the MAP Group, shares his strategic vision for this project and the growth of the group’s activities in the region in a video interview conducted by Vida Imobiliária.
The development, commissioned by a consortium led by Sonae Sierra in partnership with PGIM Real Estate and IHSP Hospitality, represents an investment of over €60 million and is positioned within the premium hospitality segment.

The architecture has been designed to respect the surrounding landscape, with low-rise buildings and green roofs unfolding along the hillside to allow for natural integration with the sea and surrounding environment.
The project will comprise a gross construction area of around 20,000 m², complemented by 22,000 m² of outdoor spaces. This will reinforce the relationship between architecture, nature, and the tourism experience.
Construction began in June 2025 and is scheduled for completion by the end of summer 2027.
For MAP Engenharia e Construção, this project is an important milestone in establishing a stronger presence in the Algarve, a region that is strategically important for the company’s growth in the residential and tourism sectors.
